A TRIBUTE TO MOTHERS ON MOTHERS DAY

"Most precious of all good gifts,
Is the gift of a loving mother."*
Her patience, kindness, anxiety, concern,
Will never be lavished by another.

Her unselfish efforts, her sacrifices,
Her devoted service to husband and family,
Her home-making talents and refining influence
Are innate parts of her personality.

God said, "My work and my glory
Are to bring to pass
The immortality and
The eternal life of man."

To accomplish these purposes God entrusted to Mothers,
With their instinctive, God-given, nurturing love,
The bearing and formative-year training of children
And not to selfish, impatient, insensitive men.

A good Mother shapes sons' destiny.
Napoleon said, "If France will have
Good Mothers-then good sons
France will surely have."

Lincoln said, "All that I am
Or ever hope to be
I owe to my angel Mother."
And the love she gave to me.

It is generally admitted and frequently proved
That genius and good qualities men possess
Can be traced to their Mothers' training.
To their Mothers, men owe their success!

"The future of society is in the hands of Mothers."*
For solving problems of society,
"An ounce of 'Mother' will do better than
The efforts of a pound of clergy"*
Or a ton of politicians can.

May all Mothers and future Mothers maintain
The incomparable reputation so many Mothers have acquired
And may husbands and children appreciate and help them!
And realize - that Mothers also get tired.
