CHRISTMAS GREETINGS FROM SALT LAKE CITY

Myriad lights on Temple Square
Proclaim the Christmas Season.
And choruses sing of the birth of Jesus,
The reason for the season.

We celebrate with Christmas trees
And colorful decorations
And gifts for happy children
And dinners for friends and relations.

It started two thousand years ago
When angels announced the birth
Of the Son of God and Mary,
A Savior for all the earth.

Many prophets foretold his coming
And miraculous things He would do.
He healed the sick, the crippled, the leper
And restored to the blind their view.

Men came by the thousands to hear Him.
He taught them the gospel of love.
'Twas said, "He taught not as other men
But as one with authority from above."

He atoned for our sins in Gethsemane.
On the cross His life He gave,
And as Son of God He overcame death
That we could arise from the grave.

Happiness is the theme of the Christmas Season
And happiness will be our lot,
If we remember the teachings that Jesus gave
And live the laws that He taught.
