CHRISTMAS GREETINGS FOR CHRISTMAS DAY

Christmas lights, Christmas trees,
Christmas presents beneath the trees,
Christmas carols. All of these
Bring happy Christmas memories.

But Christmas is more than glittering lights
And presents under the trees.
It's the coming to earth of the Son of God
In His plan to set men free.

A Lamanite prophet foretold this event,
When a day and a night and a day
Of no darkness would herald the birth of God's son,
And a new star would shine forth its ray.

Shepherds rejoiced on Bethlehem's hills
When the music of angels was heard.
Announcing the birth of God's favorite son,
And his mission to bring Man the Word.

The 'Word' was "Rejoice and come unto me.
I'll shoulder your burden of sin
And teach you the way to return to God
That his kingdom you may enter in."

He atoned for our sins in Gethsemane.
On the cross his life he gave.
And as Son of God he overcame death
That we could arise from the grave.

So before the excitement of Christmas is over
And the lights of Christmas grow dim,
Let's review Jesus' teachings, adjust our life's goals
And pledge our allegiance to Him.
