PURPOSES

PURPOSES
We came to this life with purposes,
As children of God to be like Him,
To gain knowledge, experience and abilities
And-faith-that-brings blessings from Him.

He gave us potential to accomplish our goals
And instructions to help us succeed.
First, learn to follow instructions
From-Him-who-knows all the things that we need.

Develop and preserve our environment
That provides our food and other needs.
Work-to-harvest and enjoy earth’s bounties
And share them with others through kindly deeds.

Seek-knowledge-of-earth, of people and history
And laws and their consequences,
What-brings-rewards, what-causes-troubles.
God’s helpful teachings – their evidences.

The-Ten Commandments name our friends,
The-ones who- will our-welfare defend:
God and our father and mother.
On them we can depend!

The last five commandments warn us
Of-things-that-cause troubles and suffering,
Regrets and dreadful consequences.
On them we can depend!

The “Sermon -On-The-Mount” gives teachings
That promote our welfare and happiness,
Fill our lives with love and friendships,
Learning-experiences and rewards for faithfulness.

God’s teachings are principles of progress.
They give experience, wisdom, maturity,
Develop strength, endurance, self-discipline
Good -qualities of character and personality.

These qualities promote our welfare and happiness
And help us become all that we can be
“Be perfect as our Father in Heaven,”
Prepare us for opportunities in eternity.
