THE DAMAGE OF NEGATIVE THINKING

THE DAMAGE OF NEGATIVE THINKING
Negative thoughts are destructive thoughts.
They restrict us in many ways.
They are obstacles to happiness
And to progress nights and days.

They point out the difficulties
Or say it can’t be done.
They say this life’s a “vale of tears”
And find faults with everyone.

They dispute the power of the principle of faith
And question the promises of God.
They don’t give praise or encouragement
But criticize rather than applaud.

Fault finding is part of a negative attitude.
Like a cancer it grows in your mind
Till you live in a world, where other than you,
A sensible person’s impossible to find.

Negative attitudes are liabilities
That prevent us from making a friend.
They blind our eyes to available ways
That enrich our lives to a happy end.

Reject negative attitudes without delay
While “You could if you would” - today;
Before you find the time has come when –
“You would if you could” – but it’s too late then.

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.”
“An ounce of mirth cures a pound of sorrow”
So treat yourself with some mirth today
And enjoy life today and tomorrow.
